doesn't matter. this is a git package and will always build and install the latest commit, regardless of what the pkgver on the aur says

you need to report that upstream at https://github.com/IlyaP358/fluxcast/issues not here

Bug Report: LG webOS TV discovered and P2P connects, but no RTSP session starts
Environment
  • FluxCast: fluxcast-git 0.1.5.r0.g38fdbc2-1
  • Distribution: EndeavourOS (Arch Linux)
  • Desktop: KDE Plasma (X11)
  • Kernel: 6.18.38-3-lts
  • Python: 3.14.6
  • NetworkManager: 1.56.1
  • Wi-Fi adapter: Intel AX201
  • TV: LG OLED55B87LC (webOS)
Doctor output

All required checks pass:

  • ffmpeg ✔
  • NetworkManager ✔
  • dnsmasq ✔
  • iw ✔
  • wpa_supplicant P2P ✔
  • WFD capability ✔
  • x11grab ✔
  • H.264 encoders ✔
  • Audio capture ✔

Only warnings are:

  • wf-recorder not installed (expected, using X11)
  • dbus_next missing
  • firewalld warning
Device discovery

Running:

fluxcast --wfd-scan

finds the TV every time:

[1] 00:51:ED:35:0F:AE lgoled55b87lc
    WFD capability data detected
Connection attempt

Running:

fluxcast --protocol wfd --wfd-peer 1

results in:

  • NetworkManager activates P2P successfully.
  • P2P link becomes active.
  • RTSP server starts on port 7236.
  • firewalld opens port 7236.
  • FluxCast waits for the TV RTSP session.

Then:

Active probe: TV=10.42.0.182
TV port 7236 refused — Sink-only device; waiting for its passive connection to us.

The TV never opens an RTSP connection.

Network verification

P2P interface:

10.42.0.1/24

TV:

10.42.0.182

Ping works:

0% packet loss

RTSP server is listening:

ss -tln | grep 7236

shows:

LISTEN 0 5 0.0.0.0:7236

Using tcpdump:

sudo tcpdump -i p2p-wlan0-1 host 10.42.0.182

shows no packets from the TV attempting an RTSP connection.

Additional observations

Using:

fluxcast --protocol wfd --wfd-peer 00:51:ED:35:0F:AE

returns:

ERROR: No peer matched selector: 00:51:ED:35:0F:AE

although the previous --wfd-scan clearly lists the same MAC address.

Similarly,

--wfd-peer 1

sometimes fails with:

Peer index out of range: 1

immediately after a successful scan showing index 1.

This suggests the peer list changes between scan and connection, or the peer selection code is not using the same list.

Summary

Wi-Fi Direct, P2P networking, routing and RTSP server setup all appear to work correctly.

The remaining issue is that either:

  • the LG TV never starts the RTSP session after association, or
  • FluxCast does not advertise the expected WFD parameters for this LG model, or
  • there is a bug in peer selection after scanning.

If additional debug logging would help, I'm happy to test.
