What does the failed output look like? The 2.12.93 -> 2.13 rebase was done rather improperly (someone rebased the upstream changes on top of the srb patch), but I am not exepcting it to break stuff like that. Anyway I will try to find some time to see what's going on.

Fontconfig 2.13/2.12.9x caches fonts much faster, while the srb patches speed up the library runtime.

PROBLEMS

  • Because fc 2.13/2.12.9x added translatable descriptions for its built-in config files, it's likely that your applications with an old version of fc bundled in will complain about invalid entries in the config files and ragequit. To work around this issue, back up the old config files you have in /etc/fonts/conf.avail.
