The comment notifying you of the issue is an implicit request to fix. Your reply indicates you are aware of the problem. Your lack of action for two months is an implicit refusal to fix. Your response to the flag is an explicit refusal to fix.

Fix the package, and I will discharge the orphan request.

Note: Flagging is a courtesy. It gives you a chance to respond and fix issues without any consequence. The flag disappears when the problem is solved. When maintainers complain about flags, the next option is an orphan request.

@xiota Do you know what flagging out-of-date means? Instead, you should have written your request in a comment, because this package was clearly not outdated.

And then you created an orphan request.

"Maintainer knows about the issue and a potential solution, but has refused to fix for two months." I did not refuse anything, there was no request to put the workaround in the PKGBUILD.

This package is not out-of-date.

@system7 This is a problem with upstream, having some icons named the same as other applications, so it should be reported there.

For now as a workaround you could add this to the PKGBUILD in package to remove these conflicts and install it with makepkg -if:

cd "$pkgdir/usr/share/icons/hicolor/scalable/actions"
rm chain-link-loose-symbolic.svg
rm chain-link-symbolic.svg
rm check-round-outline-symbolic.svg
rm error-symbolic.svg
rm image-missing-symbolic.svg
rm paper-symbolic.svg
rm usb-stick-symbolic.svg
rm view-refresh-symbolic.svg

I have this problem. What I was wrong? The --overwrite parameter does not solve the problem. 😢

@fabrixxm Thanks, I added it as gst-plugins-rs (because there's no standalone installation for gst-plugin-gif), and other dependencies from this file.

The only dependency I couldn't find was gst/gstreamer-svt-av1.

fabrixxm commented on 2023-06-20 17:55 (UTC)

looks like it's missing a dependency on gst-plugin-gtk4
