I managed to run the latest version taken from the forticlient page. Following the steps of the debtap then installing with sudo pacman -U It gives some errors when installing and when you open it sometimes the whole screen remains white but it works even with ems :)

I leave the pkg generated with debtap https://drive.google.com/file/d/1phL3aB1WXmtTnAUpZl8FvVDKZRT_8abq/view?usp=sharing

which seems weird that it installs discord and chromium as dependencies haha if someone can happily modify it

Greetings and thanks to all!

Just created an account to confirm that the solution by Yolosan works for me. Thank you for posting it here @yolosan

Maybe that is not the right way (to install .deb) but it works.

I've ended up installing debtap, downloading the latest deb package from their website and running these commands:

# first update the debtap db
sudo debtap -u

cd ~/Downloads

# Note this might not be available when you try it. Go to their website to get the latest package.
wget https://fortinetweb.s3.amazonaws.com/forticlient/downloads/FortiClientFullVPNInstaller_6.4.3.0959_amd64.deb

debtap FortiClientFullVPNInstaller_6.4.3.0959_amd64.deb

# Press Enter a couple of times and wait for it to finish
sudo pacman -U forticlient-6.4.3.0959-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst

LE:

For some reason(I don't know how to debug) the client still doesn't work. I ended up installing https://hadler.me/linux/openfortigui/ and it just worked after I've checked the SUDO -E Option option in Settings.

This does not work on my system. How do I fix it? Thank you.

Depends on gconf

Have you found a solution for the segmentation fault issue? I found this issue on the electron repo https://github.com/electron/electron/issues/13972 but still couldn't make it work. Any ideas?

Depends of libappindicator-gtk2

The download fails because the range is not satisfiable. ** Resuming transfer from byte position 160474612 curl: (22) The requested URL returned error: 416

The URL is correct: https://repo.fortinet.com/repo/ubuntu/pool/multiverse/forticlient/forticlient_6.0.8.0140_amd64.deb

Do you how to change the build file to correct this?

I thought I needed this package so I tried to re-direct it to use the system electron2 package and didn't see a segfault (though, very limited testing), but I did see some other wonky things like forticlient hanging if libappindicator-gtk2 is installed.

My attempt can seen here for those interested in continuing to tinker with it: https://github.com/Warepire/aur-forticlient

Any update on segmentation fault?

I used forticlient_6.0.6.0125_amd64.deb too, but it gives me the same error.
