Thanks pete910 for this workaround. I have the error too and the option LIBGL_DRI3_DISABLE=true you mention works for me as well.

It is reproducible on 0.16 as well as on 0.17 and affects all versions, including the one before the AUR and the AppImage. The exact error message is:

failed to create drawable [xcb] Unknown sequence number while processing queue [xcb] Most likely this is a multi-threaded client and XInitThreads has not been called [xcb] Aborting, sorry about that. FreeCAD: xcb_io.c:259: poll_for_event: Assertion `!xcb_xlib_threads_sequence_lost' failed. Aborted (core dumped)

This isn't building for me. I'm using hdf5-openmpi.

-- Checking for one of the modules 'hdf5-serial' CMake Error at /usr/share/cmake/hdf5/hdf5-targets.cmake:296 (message): The imported target "hdf5::hdf5-static" references the file "/usr/lib/libhdf5.a"

but this file does not exist. Possible reasons include:

  • The file was deleted, renamed, or moved to another location.

  • An install or uninstall procedure did not complete successfully.

  • The installation package was faulty and contained

    "/usr/share/cmake/hdf5/hdf5-targets.cmake"

but not all the files it references.

Call Stack (most recent call first): /usr/share/cmake/hdf5/hdf5-config.cmake:138 (include) /usr/share/cmake-3.10/Modules/FindHDF5.cmake:449 (find_package) CMakeLists.txt:700 (find_package)

Builds fine for me, throws errors on startup.

freecad: xcb_io.c:259: poll_for_event: Assertion `!xcb_xlib_threads_sequence_lost' failed.

Hunting on net it seems it does not like Mesa/AMD driver :(

Edit:

Found a work round

Sorry to ask this not directly related to the PKGBUILD, but what has happened to freecad??? It was in official repos and now it is only in AUR.

This is a bit frustrating, we will have to spend many hours compiling each update :-(
