Okay, thanks for the clarification!

No, when you donate you're given a unique URL to download the donation version. The donation version comes with a self-updater so if you go that route you should just not use the Arch package.

@shaybox: It may be possible if the donation edition can be downloaded without authentication or any other restrictions. Is there a public download link for it?

I've just tested it again. For me, everything works without issues. Do you get this error when starting the application or during build?

Thanks andi5! Got the same problem with "Error code 478674948: error:1C880004:Provider routines::RSA lib [EVP_DigestVerifyFinal]" and solved it with !debug.

For "Error code 478674948: error:1C880004:Provider routines::RSA lib [EVP_DigestVerifyFinal]" I had to add !debug to the options. Looks like the tidying in makepkg modifies the package binaries even when not stripping.

Could the donation edition somehow be supported, maybe with a split package? it seems to be a .zip instead of a .tar.gz like the free edition.

FreeFileSync_13.5_[Donation_Edition]_Linux.zip
FreeFileSync_13.5_[Donation_Edition]_Install.key
FreeFileSync_13.5_[Donation_Edition]_Install.run

I believe the key is used by the run file automatically in the cwd.

Installation files are corrupted. Please reinstall FreeFileSync.

Consistency check failed for "/opt/freefilesync/Bin/FreeFileSync_x86_64".

Good point! Thanks for the hint. I've changed the license to "custom".

According to FreeFileSync's official FAQs at https://freefilesync.org/faq.php

May I distribute the FreeFileSync installation package?

You are permitted to distribute the software subject to the following conditions:

The software must be distributed free of charge and
without modification to the contents of the installer package. Redistributing the installer package with any files added, removed, or modified is prohibited.
The inclusion of the installer package or any of the included files in a different archive, or in a different installer is forbidden. For example, the integration into a third-party automated installation mechanism is forbidden.
The FreeFileSync Donation Edition and Business Edition may not be distributed in any way!

and

Is FreeFileSync free for commercial use?

No, the standard version of FreeFileSync is intended for private use only. The same applies to the FreeFileSync Donation Edition.

Businesses and government institutions may still use FreeFileSync, but are required to buy the FreeFileSync Business Edition.

The above restrictions are incompatible with FreeFileSync's GPLv3 license.

Given that this is a mislabeling by upstream, would it still be appropriate to list this package as GPLv3 licensed here in the AUR?
