As per https://freeswitch.org/confluence/display/FREESWITCH/Installation "The current production release of FreeSWITCH™ is version 1.4 created from tag 1.4.21 on 28 August, 2015. This is the recommended version to install for production systems"

.SRCINFO: this is fixed. apologies; my pre-commit hook was borked. PKGBUILD: check those paths. they aren't the same. :) var/spool/freeswitch/storage var/lib/freeswitch/storage (have i mentioned how silly freeswitch is yet?) freeswitch.install: oooh, good call, actually. this does need to be fixed. will have 1.4.20-2 pushed soon (need to fix -git as well)

I suggest the following changes should be made. .SRCINFO Line 32: source = git+https://stash.freeswitch.org/scm/fs/freeswitch.git#tag=v1.4.20 PKGBUILD The 'storage' directory should be a link and is already created as a directory when the 'ln' command is executed. Insert between line 218 and 219: rmdir var/lib/freeswitch/storage freeswitch.install Line 16-17 should be updated with relevant information. Changing '/etc/freeswitch/vars.xml' doesn't do anything because '/etc/freeswitch/private/passwords.xml' overwrites the variables.

the issue was resolved- ssl/tls is supported as packaged, but needs some config changes- which, oddly enough, aren't distributed in upstream's sample confs. in your <sip profile name>.xml, these changes need to be made: < <!--<param name="tls-cert-dir" value=""/>--> --- > <param name="tls-cert-dir" value="/etc/freeswitch/ssl"/> as well as < <param name="tls-verify-policy" value="none"/> --- > <param name="tls-verify-policy" value="all"/> plus the instructions found at https://wiki.freeswitch.org/wiki/SIP_TLS (note that ./gentls_cert etc. commands should instead be "gentls_cert" etc.- no ./ ; this is because they're bundled into the system binary directory.)

for those tracking, i've updated to 1.4.20 and replied to andriesinfoserv via a private channel. 90%+ certain it's a missed configuration directive in his profile, but waiting to hear back. if anyone is seeing a duplication of this issue, please let me know.
