It seems the 3.8 mediavps are intended to be used with a pre-release version of fs2_open. As such, there's an argument to be made for waiting until fs2_open 3.8.2 is released before updating this package.

Thanks, I downloaded the files from the provided torrent and didn't know there was a different version.

I get a checksum error when checking the MV_Root.7z file. It looks like it should be '060502b07d60c0b559f021e66f51e8da73043a9d9828d535bff88a3c4f2ca36c'.

The PKGBUILD incorrectly moves the cbanims (MV_CB_ANI_{1,2}.vp) to data/effects/ . These should remain in the top-level mediavps_3612/ directory with the other archives.
