@Sven exactly, also starting with idf-4.0 the idf downloads the toolchain itself and downloading/installing it separately is not necessary anymore.

Why is this flagged out of date all of the time? I have had trouble to make esp-idf 3.x run with newer gcc. This gcc shouldn't be kept at an esp-idf 3.x compatible level, until esp-idf 4.x is available in AUR.

To get this working I had to install ncurses5-compat-libs 6.1-1 (https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/ncurses5-compat-libs/) could you please add it as a dependency.

Thank you so much for packaging this up, it's so much easier than downloading it by hand and adding it to my PATH.

Any plans to add the esp32ulp binutils (https://github.com/espressif/binutils-esp32ulp/wiki#downloads, https://esp-idf.readthedocs.io/en/latest/api-guides/ulp.html)?
