@Daktyl198 electron30 is part of Extra repo, not AUR. If it was up to me I would have already bumped to electron32, but we should guarantee a minimum of stability and get as close as possible to the upstream dependencies. (especially in binaries and in software as marvelous and volatile as Electron)

@inetol If the package works with upstream electron and there are no breakages, it makes no sense to rely on an additional AUR package if it's not necessary. You've changed the PKGBUILD to now use electron30 from the AUR because 28 and 29 are going EOL, which means you're already out of the scope of the dependencies and only 1 version behind the arch repos. It would make more sense to just use the latest electron until/unless something breaks. Even the gdlauncher-git package just requires the latest electron package...

@Daktyl198 Because this is the version it expects to have. Unless Electron 28 goes EoL I will not bump to the next release. (looks like Electron 28 already went to EoL almost 3 months ago, I will update the dependency requirement shortly to 30 bc 29 is going EoL tomorrow)

Is there a reason this package depends on electron28 specifically rather than the current version in the Arch repos? GDLauncher runs just fine after editing the PKGBUILD to use the latest electron version.

@devvick version 1.1.26 was released, then upstream deleted the version because it was broken. 1.1.27 is currently being evaluated and a release should come soon.
devvick commented on 2022-07-23 23:42 (UTC)
There is no 1.1.26 version on the releases page, current version doesn't build

Currently the upstream package is broken, and will be fixed in the next stable update. Use gdlauncher-beta or gdlauncher-beta-bin for now. EDIT: The package has been updated, and now works!

@necklace, this is a bit late of a response but fixed in d363769a9552 - much appreciated
@wesman, appreciate it :)
