GDM no longer have a wallpaper, but you can replace noise-texture.png in the gnome-shell theme by a wallpaper.

Rasi commented on 2013-11-05 13:16

How do you set a wallpaper with this? I cant see any option to do this...

as NanoArch suggested , adding the backgrounds to /usr/share/gnome-background-properties.xml fixes the issue , thanks .

NanoArch commented on 2013-06-22 16:51

@ step-2
like for gnome-control-center you need to create an xml file in /usr/share/gnome-background-properties

step-2 commented on 2013-06-22 13:04

Hi there,
i can't seem to get my wallpaper to show up in gdm3setup dialog ,
copying the wallpapers to /usr/share/backgrounds & /usr/share/themes/Adwaita/backgrounds doesn't help ,
any solution ?

NanoArch commented on 2013-04-18 18:51

Problem corrected by reinstalling gdm3setup-utils

Have the same issue as Lantean.
Installed the python dependency (python2-lxml) manually.

I had the same trouble as you donniezazen. In order to get the image to show up properly copy it to /usr/share/backgrounds. Make sure you update the image path(s) in the application to point to the new location of the file.

donniezazen commented on 2012-08-22 04:01

Every time I change my wallpaper it goes back to disabled.

blackout24 commented on 2012-08-14 01:04

Just wanted to say that everything works. It installs fine and I can change my background. Thanks!

billybigrigger commented on 2012-06-30 12:36

i have python2-lxml and gobject installed...still get this error...

Yup, couldn't start it without python2-lxml

progandy commented on 2012-05-31 20:19

The PKGBUILD is missing the python2 dependencies, e.g. gobject, and lxml

step-2 commented on 2012-05-31 09:21

doesnt launch at all

NanoArch commented on 2012-05-01 17:45

the bug in get_gdm.sh are now corrected

Anonymous comment on 2012-05-01 12:16

as a workaround you can comment out line 484 and 499 in /usr/bin/gdm3setup.py

Worked for me....

Still doesn't work for me with gnome 3.4.

NanoArch commented on 2012-04-28 13:18

Now compatible with gnome 3.4

Anonymous comment on 2012-04-25 08:04

I confirm too. Maybe the new gnome 3.4?

Anonymous comment on 2012-04-25 07:07

I can confirm that it's not working in gnome-shell 3.4.1 with exact the same error messages as leprechau.

Anonymous comment on 2012-04-24 14:31

possibly an upstream issue but gdm3setup is no longer working for me with gnome-shell 3.4.1 from extra:

[ahurt@ahurt1 ~]$ gksu gdm3setup.py
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/usr/bin/gdm3setup.py", line 700, in <module>
MainWindow().show_all()
File "/usr/bin/gdm3setup.py", line 398, in __init__

File "/usr/bin/gdm3setup.py", line 476, in get_gdm
self.SHELL_LOGO = unquote(get_setting("SHELL_LOGO",settings))
File "/usr/bin/gdm3setup.py", line 672, in get_setting
return value
UnboundLocalError: local variable 'value' referenced before assignment

This happens with or without prepending with gksu

ying commented on 2012-01-22 14:25

Please add gksu to the exec command in the desktop stater file.

Cloning 'gdm3setup' to 'gdm3setup-build' is useless. There is no change on source.

NanoArch commented on 2011-11-14 17:02

I have added a option to change font for GTK UI, for gnome-shell UI you need to edit the theme

Anonymous comment on 2011-10-27 11:00

How can I change the font of gdm3 ?

caspian commented on 2011-10-03 08:39

The apply button is always greyed out for me. Even when I run the application with gksu or sudo from the terminal...

Anonymous comment on 2011-09-02 13:27

easy to use

you should include 'gksu' on Depends.

pezz commented on 2007-01-01 00:57

Not sure if this is a bug in GDM3 in general, but disabling the user list doesn't work.
