I didn't know about them. They are not listed as "Required by". I'm guessing you have your own.

Whenever I find time I can tweak the script to do not act on the environmental variables if the file /etc/profile.d/geant4.sh does not exist.

There are programs that use geant4 data files without using geant4 - maybe consider removing genat4 from dependencies for those cases?
