I can't use genymotion with virtualbox backend, because genymotion isn't compatible with virtualbox 7.0.0 or higher. Whats the point in having virtualbox as a non-optional dependency?

Thanks @huyz,

Good suggestion - anyone else have thoughts on this (making virtualbox optional since genymotion apparently now supports qemu)?

I'm not sure on this - given that most users just want to install it and have it work - plus we do install a virtualbox.conf to /etc/modules-load.d/ to ensure loading the required modules.

Another option is to create a new AUR package (like genymotion-qemu or something).

On 3.3.0 genymotion supports using qemu for virtualization.

gmtool config --hypervisor qemu

So perhaps virtualbox should be optional.

Hey @sync147, it's most likely virtualbox. Genymotion depends on a functioning virtualbox. You'll need the virtualbox host modules for your kernel, or else use the dkms modules. Try installing the virtualbox-host-dkms package and restarting. That should get you going.

Hi, I need to run genymotion as regular user (not root) to circumvent that problem. Any help ?

All, have added a custom DLAGENT to the PKGBUILD to workaround upstream blocking wget/curl/etc. Is now working for me. Please test and report back if still are having an issue.

@jaysicks @cloverskull - indeed does look like it. Will look into this tonight and see if there is a workaround...

Looks like cloudflare blocks downloads using wget/curl/etc.
