Currently it doesn't build unless you set the default jdk to be version 12

sudo archlinux-java set java-12-openjdk

I appreciate the effort in turning this package into a package that builds from source, however I got build errors because of my java environment. I have both jdk7-openjdk and jdk-openjdk (which is v12) installed. jdk7-openjdk was active when I built this package, and that generated the following error:

Execution failed for task ':Utility:compileJava'.
> Could not find tools.jar. Please check that /usr/lib/jvm/java-8-openjdk/jre contains a valid JDK installation.

After changing back to jdk-openjdk using

sudo archlinux-java set jdk-openjdk
I was able to build the package just fine. Just a heads-up in case someone else has this problem as well.

Is it possible for the PKGBUILD file to use jdk-openjdk instead while building?

So... Will this package be updated?

There is already a -bin. Please migrate this to compile from source as is guidelines for package nomenclature.

yes. there were some issues with devendoring and reproducibility we're trying to address first

algebro commented on 2019-04-25 20:48

Are there still any plans to migrate this to a full source build?

The font AA should be fixed in 9.0.1 "GUI. Turned on font anti-aliasing by default for Linux. (Issue #212)"

I have created a .desktop file, if anyone is looking for one. Nothing crazy, but thought it might be helpful to someone.

Please complain upstream if you want any patches integrated into ghidra.
