A new version has now out. @MoonSwan: I hope it fixes the problem.

Just a quick question to the maintainers of this package.

TLDR: [i hate TLDRs but my post is long enough to warrant it ...] According to an extension I want to run this version of Ghostery is too old to support it or make use of it. Can this be worked around or do I need to compile another version of Ghostery myself? (If I do, how would you recommend I go about it? I've never used ABS and never compiled from source outside of using Yay).

I'm a long-time Archer but I've run into a snag with this app. I tried to use my favourite Youtube extension (it's just called YouTube Enhancer) by going to FF's extensions page and searching for it. I thought I found it but, it turned out that it was an extension by someone else with the same damn name! There appears to be at least 2 extensions with the name Youtube Enhancer (which pissed me off ...) so I went looking for it with the Mercury browser. I found it, installed it then came back here to install it on Ghostery.

Much to my suprise (and great annoyance) I was greeted with the message that this app is "too old" to use the new version of YE! Wtf. When I looked at the version string for Ghostery it turns out their version is fairly far behind FFs and other forks of FF. I don't know why that is but it's a pain in the arse right now for me.

My question is whether there's anything to be done about this issue or would I have to compile a Git version by myself to get a more current Ghostery install? I'd use Mercury but it's giving me issues with Sway and not re-sizing my PiP YouTube videos correctly.

(I do realise you guys may not be able to do a damn thing but I thought I'd ask.)

Raine

To the best of knowledge, I lack permission to delete the package myself. But I support the open deletion request.

@milouse Thanks for the support, I added you as co-maintainer.

I only saw the message after pushing already the update with the latest release. But feel free to update again with your changes. I looked over them and the changes make sense (adding icons and disabling auto-update, since on Linux updates happen via pacman).

And here is a little updated PKGBUILD 😀 https://paste.picasoft.net/?1720a5b49f75b40f#Ey4MpmVZ14zXdogawTrgrHZAxWj5LcFoUfKP5KutR2Yu

This new PKGBUILD feature the .desktop file to add launcher in desktop menu and the policies file to avoid noisy update popup.

If you are not afraid of that, I can also volunteer as a co-packager if you wish :)
