This should be gitversion 6.8.0-1 , not 6.8.0-6 .

Please reset the pkgrel to 1 when upstream version changes.

Looks good, next version of my aur oolite-git package will have gitversion as a makedepend.

It does build ok, but devtools runs additional checks after building .

Install namcap and run it in the container on the pkg.tar.zst . (running it on a live system has a big chance of missing things.)

You can ignore the 'unused shared library' messages it shows as those usually are false positives that can only be verified at runtime .

That leaves 3 messages that require changes in the PKGBUILD.

@Lone_Wolf:

I just built the package as it is now in a chroot as you suggested, works fine here.

@Lone_Wolf

I've purged the patch file, thanks.

building in a clean chroot gives several errors

Could you please give more details? I'm building all AUR packages inside the same bare bones container image, and gitversion builds just fine.

dotnet-sdk-ver.patch is no longer used but hasn't been removed from the repo .

building in a clean chroot gives several errors, you should look at dependencies and install a license file .

In case you're not familiar with clean chroot building check https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/DeveloperWiki:Building_in_a_clean_chroot .

Reinstalling the package completely seem to have fixed it for me

@Reaw, sorry, I can't reproduce this. I built on my desktop and in a (minimal) container, and both builds of 5.12.0-2 work fine.

Reaw commented on 2023-10-18 11:29 (UTC)

I am getting exactly the same error as @sjoerd222888:

Running this kernel 6.1.55-1-MANJARO

@sjoerd222888: -2 works fine for me, please try it.
