Thanks for posting the update. This must have been something specific to your machine, as I can install and run gmchess-bin successfully on production computers as well as fresh installations.

I tried something which for some reason made things package to work. First is I tried to see if I can play chinese chess using hoichess and xboard via xboard -fcp hoixiangqi. That ran without problem. Next I reinstalled gmchess-bin and voila! It starts working again.

This package is crashing. I am getting segmentation fault exactly the same as gmchess. Anybody's got a solution?
