pkgbuild needs to be updated to the new VCS features, it doesn't build in its current state because the pkgdir is touched in the build-function (see https://mailman.archlinux.org/pipermail/arch-general/2013-April/033337.html)

I did a full system upgrade, and now it works just fine with alsa. (in fact : with nothing. gst tries pulse sink, jack, and falls back to alsa, and it jut works) thank you for the job !

removed the PID from the service, as it seems to be gumming up the works.

also, fixed the git pull origin and extra git pull issue. this pkgbuild was based on an existing one. please refer to the gstreamer wiki page for instructions on using ALSA with gstreamer. you need to set a gconf key.

rebased back to hzeller's repository. seems to compile fine now with his latest fixes. supposedly libxml is a fallback if libupnp is not present. i may remove that in a future release.

I removed gstreamer 1.0, installed gstreamer 0.10, compilation works. (even libxml seems fixed) I also played a bit with the upstream code to build my own package with gstreamer 1.0 (if you're interested I can share the tweaks done in PKGBUILD + some start scripts) In both cases I have problems with alsasink as gstout-audiosink. (trying to have this work on a RasPi : without pulseaudio I can't) isn't there a package on Arch for gstreamer+alsa ? btw : in your PKGBUILD, could the 'git pull origin' be replaced by 'git pull' in order to keep one's local modifications ? + when cloning again in thr -build directory : a 'cp -r' would be better than another git pull, for the same reason ;-)

Updated to drop back to gstreamer0.10, also added libupnp as a makedepend. Let me know if you're still having trouble with this. I'm currently having some issues as well, but I'm not sure if they're related.

Err, in fact compiling with gstreamer 1.0 fails. Seems that the sources are not as up to date as what the upstream provides.

Doesn't work with gstreamer-1.0, only 0.10. Comes from de configure script, that looks for GST_MAJORMINOR=0.10.1 Best solution would be o look for 1.0 first, then 0.10.1, (or give priority depending on --with option)

I would suggest adding libupnp as a 'makedepends' Try to compile on Raspberry Pi (alarmpi). I have problems with libxml. (parser.h not found). Added a link from /user/include/lixml2/libxml to /usr/include/libxml ... the compilation failed but this time on the "link" with undefined reference to `xmlNewDoc' Finally edited PKGBUILD to set : configure --without-libxml had it compile and install, and start. Have to check if it works now :-)
