This still works, but you need to change the PKGBUILD source to:

https://download-fallback.gnome.org/sources/gnome-session/${pkgver%.*}/gnome-session-${pkgver}.tar.xz

@rodolfo: No, it's not. The base-devel group is required for using the AUR and those packages do not need to be in makedepends().
