gnome-settings-daemon 3.26 brought the ability to change the volume in finer steps by pressing Shift + Volume key up/down, which I guess is the reason why this package has not been updated yet.

I am fine with this solution. However I don't have media keys on my keyboard and thus I have made another patched package to make these new shortcuts configurable.
