Since today i always get prompted for an update even though i just installed it. My guess is the version is wrong. You should use the current release 45.Stable.r0.gced0ff0-1 (which currently gets installed) not the dev branch.

The Git repo is wrong. The official repo is https://gitlab.com/arcmenu-team/Arc-Menu/

The version number (with the stable mention) in quotes works to.

Same as @amathadius. As of today arc-menu has stopped working for me and does not show up in the extensions list.

Version I'm using: gnome-shell-extension-arc-menu-git 44.Stable.r0.g7251bb8-1

What journalctl has to say about it:

avril 01 11:10:39 star gnome-shell[1211]: JS ERROR: Could not load extension arc-menu@linxgem33.com: Error: Failed to parse metadata.json: SyntaxError: JSON.parse: expected ',' or '}' after property 
value in object at line 8 column 18 of the JSON data

With the mention "-Stable" in the version number of metadata.json, gnome does not see the extension.
