i already installed imagemagik because i read your posts on github repo. if downgrade to librsvg mistake disappears. maybe imagemagik somehow uses librsvg to convert svg to png? this is mistake that i have: convert: cairo-surface.c:928: cairo_surface_reference: Assertion `(_cairo_atomic_int_get (&(&surface->ref_count)->ref_count) > 0)' failed. /home/.../PKGBUILD: line 31: 16569 Aborted (core dumped) convert media/logo.{svg,png}

On my machine, it works even with librsvg=1:2.40.12. But the convert program comes from from the imagemagick package, which I forgot to add as a make dependency until your notice. If it was missing on your system, please retry.

for me 'convert' fails with librsvg-1:2.40.12. so downgrade at first, than install.

I crudely convert the SVG with a PNG before building to restore functionality for the time being. Meanwhile, I will watch the bug reports in the upstream project <https://github.com/micheleg/dash-to-dock/issues/262> and Arch Linux itself <https://bugs.archlinux.org/index.php?do=details&task_id=47245> reverting when everything works as expected again. Thanks for the notice.

If you're experiencing a crash when trying to open the settings window this should help: I went to the projects bug tracker to see if someone had reported it and whether or not there was a fix, there is, credit goes to Brainwall. Basically logo.svg is causing crashes, and not just in the dash to dock panel, when you try to delete it or open it or even just open the directory it's in with nautilus it crashes, so to remove it open your terminal and use the following commands: "cd /usr/share/gnome-shell/extensions/dash-to-dock@micxgx.gmail.com/media" "sudo rm logo.svg" After that you should be able to open the settings menu as well as the above directory in your preferred file manager without a crash.

Thanks. Will do. :)

You are missing some dependencies, like the error message states. Try building the package with makepkg -s. Also the package is not supposed to automatically update whenever new changes are pushed to the repository. It simply takes the latest version found in the repo during package build time. It's your responsibility to manually update it whenever your want. Use the gnome-shell-extension-dash-to-dock package if you want to use a package that automatically updates on released versions.

I don't think the this package auto updates from the github source when new changes are put out. I always have to update it manually by reinstalling. Another thing is I get this dependency error This is what I get: ==> ==> Building and installing package ==> Making package: gnome-shell-extension-dash-to-dock-git r261.6d725d1-2 (Sun Jan 18 03:59:13 CST 2015) ==> Checking runtime dependencies... ==> Checking buildtime dependencies... ==> Missing dependencies: -> gnome-common -> intltool ==> ERROR: Could not resolve all dependencies. ==> gnome-shell-extension-dash-to-dock-git is already up to date

Thanks for letting me know. I've now updated the PKGBUILD.

Installing this besides gnome-shell-extensions-git worked fine in my case. You may want to drop the conflict and perhaps provide 'gnome-shell-extension-dash-to-dock' (without '-git') instead of the package itself.
