Gamewise, no difference

wine will install the windows version of the game into your home (or $WINEPREFIX). This will install it outside your home, it's the native linux version, and is managed by pacman.

Generally, the native package runs better, and it's guaranteed that you have any extra dependencies you might need too.

I prefer the native package too because it's also easier to uninstall the game, and I can see it listed in my package manager when cleaning up.

obvious is overstated, but I guessed it. But is there any advantage over the normal installer executed with wine? Why should I want to use this way and why should I repeat the download when the game already is on my NAS?

@schnedan I think this package is pretty obvious: it's for installing that game on Arch. What doubts do you have?

Hi, I bought Thimbleweed Park last year from gog,.. honestly I don't understand what that package here is good for. Would you mind to add some kind of minimal description?

You are correct. The sha512sum has changed because upstream has updated from 1.0.938.14433 to 1.0.958.19330. Fixed the hash, thanks!

Seems like the file thimbleweed_park_en_1_0_938_14433.sh now has a changed sha512sum.

Thanks a lot for your contribution @WhyNotHugo! I gave it a few test runs and it seems to work very well. I have made a few minor changes: - Include `lgogdownloader` as a makedep - Depend on `gcc-libs` instead of `gcc-libs-multilib` - Re-added epoch to allow upgrading from v2.6.0.7 - Give credits Thanks once again!

Here's an updated PKGBUILD that actually downloads from GOG (or uses a local file if it's already present, which is what PKGBUILD always does): https://gist.github.com/hobarrera/55bc2fb56008c8a9fd20e7b113d2e911 I added depends as well, which were missing. I also replaced "Installing" with "Packaging" in the PKBGUILD output, since that's what it actually does.
