Repackaged project, slightly cleaner and smaller. (close to the debian package).

Build was broken for an hour or two, sorry 'bout that

Finally ...

  • removing the "systray color change" on message receive, this is what breaks Ctrl K
  • adding a nifty custom theme as a compensation

squalou commented on 2019-11-07 22:18

About Ctrl K : it's broken due to "NodeIntegration : true"

which in turn is required to make systray icon color change... I give up. electron, node, js, all this is a fragile piece of crap imho. Blame google for not releasing a proper app, as if they could not. (windows and mac ARE electron based)

FYI : Ctrl K broken again :/

FYI again : back t oelecton 6 beta (better chromium version), fixed the issues of previous releases.

FYI : rolling back to electron 5.0.0-bat6, because ... more recent versions dropped some features. I'll have to adapt things differently.

WARNING : You may need to uninstall/clean reinstall, due to change in numbering scheme (to match upstream prpoject which I now own), and force electron update from beta to official

I see lots of problems with it ... so if it occurs to you too, please be patient.

New release includes electron runtime (5.0.0-beta.6) AND and fork of original repo which FIXES the search (Ctrl K) feature in the client.

squalou commented on 2019-03-22 16:04

Good news : the search works again with electron 5.0.0-beta6

So ... should be allright for everyone soon enough. edit : but breaks tayicon color changes. Stay tuned
