When reporting this package as outdated make sure there is indeed a new version for Linux Desktop. You can have a look at the "Beta updates" tag in Release blog for this.

You can also run this command to obtain the version string for the latest chrome beta version:

$ curl -sSf https://dl.google.com/linux/chrome/deb/dists/stable/main/binary-amd64/Packages | \
     grep -A1 "Package: google-chrome-beta" | \
     awk '/Version/{print $2}' | \
     cut -d '-' -f1

Do not report updates for ChromeOS, Android or other platforms stable versions as updates here.

build 54.0.2840.16-2 has begun to segfault on me at seemingly random intervals. Sometimes it will go for 30 minutes and sometimes it only lasts 5. It doesn't look like there's a log it's leaving behind either, so I'm not even sure how to debug it or if it is even chrome or some other dependency. Anyone else having similar problems?

Yep, it's fixed. thanks.

Should be fixed in -2.

I updated to 54.0.2840.16-1, and run Plank Dock. When starting chrome, it seems to be "disconnected" from the .desktop file, since it is not pinnable. Even if creating a custom launcher file, that only works as a launcher. If anyone else runs Plank, do you have this issue? This could very well be a Chrome bug, but if someone comes here to look for help, I just wanted to put this here.

"beta: 53.0.2785.34 dropped a week ago" No, that's the Dev Channel. It was promoted to Beta just yesterday/today: http://googlechromereleases.blogspot.com/2016/07/beta-channel-update-for-desktop.html

Definitely cool! :-) Is pinning new to aur? I put the md5sums in a comment anyway, just so's the issue was unambiguous.

How about them "Pinned Comments", tho?

I get a different md5sum: live archive: d3ebb00b2940fa64599b01ca6e3ab5ab PKGBUILD: dded75e9cfa91ac7707b06c68412a507

✔ NOTE. If the sha512sums don't match, there's a new version. Simply flag the package.
