If you need to use a proxy server to access Google Earth, you should be able to set the environment variable http_proxy
, and Google Earth should respect it.
If it's not working, it could be because the version of libproxy
it was built against is incompatible with the current version in the Arch repo. You can try installing this package, which installs an older libproxy.so.1
(from ALA) that's known to work.
Note that this file is installed into Google Earth Pro's application directory, so it shouldn't affect any of your other applications.
As of 2023-03-19, the last working version seems to be 0.4.17-7
. Please flag this package as out-of-date IF AND ONLY IF you have tested and confirmed that a newer version of libproxy
is working for the current version of google-earth-pro
.
