I will not update (for now) to the latest version 7.3.6.9326 because it crashes continuously for me.

Thanks, unfortunate timing then.

For reference, with Gnome shell / wayland I need to

unset QT_QPA_PLATFORMTHEME
unset QT_QPA_PLATFORM

to avoid

Google Earth has caught signal 6.

Good idea, everybody can choose. Thank you ;)

The 32-bit version is now the default. 64-bit version can be enabled with the _64 flag on top of the PKGBUILD.

Det commented on 2014-04-24 01:54 (UTC)

The AMD64 package has included 64-bit binaries ever since the first beta of 7.0 (October 2012). We wouldn't have a problem, if it didn't.

Hello, the amd64 deb package don't work even on deb distros (like Ubuntu); so I've found a workaround: build the package for 32 and 64 bits systems only with the i386 deb package (and all the necessary lib32); after all, the amd64 google package is a i386 deb with lib32 deps. here is a modified PKGBUILD: http://pastebin.archlinux.fr/499621 hope this help ;)

We apologize for the inconvenience, but Google Earth has crashed. This is a bug in the program, and should never happen under normal circumstances. A bug report and debugging data have been written to this text file: /home/mrechte/.googleearth/crashlogs/crashlog-5346e8b2.txt Please include this file if you submit a bug report to Google. Is this a 32-bit related problem (I am on a 64-bit Arch) Thanks

Det commented on 2014-04-08 02:52 (UTC)

Maybe. I used to have that as a flag, but replaced it with the _attempt_fix, which was supposed to let us keep the 64-bit version and even fix Panoramio.

olive commented on 2014-04-05 09:08 (UTC)

This version crash for me on a 64 bits install. However the 32 bits version (as downloaded from Google) works fine with the appropriate multilib libraries installed. Does anyone have success with this version on a 64 bits archlinux? It might be worthwhile to package the 32 bits version even for machine running the 64 bits version of archlinux. I use a AMD graphic card (with the catalyst driver).

Det commented on 2014-02-26 08:46 (UTC)

Well, at least then it doesn't crash. If you already checked the thread links in the Wiki, then you're probably better off using google-earth6.
