I will not update (for now) to the latest version 7.3.6.9326 because it crashes continuously for me.

Thanks, unfortunate timing then.

For reference, with Gnome shell / wayland I need to

unset QT_QPA_PLATFORMTHEME
unset QT_QPA_PLATFORM

to avoid

Google Earth has caught signal 6.

Core/openssl provides libcrypto.so.1.1. Packaging issue.

I'm getting "/opt/google/earth/pro/googleearth-bin: error while loading shared libraries: libcrypto.so.1.0.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory" after the update when I try to launch it from terminal and then... nothing comes up.

Am I missing something? (Yes, I'm a newbie).

I had a little time now to check this more carefully and the problem is the libcrypto.so.1.0.0 that is shipped with the GE release. Deleting it seems to solve the problem.

Det commented on 2020-12-20 17:36 (UTC)

@iyanmv, which GE depends on for its functionality.

@maderios, built today?

maderios commented on 2020-12-20 15:39 (UTC)

@Det It's curl-git aur package => it's git master, of course

iyanmv commented on 2020-12-20 14:47 (UTC)

@Det, @maderios this is not a curl issue, it is a google earth issue.

Det commented on 2020-12-20 12:40 (UTC)

Might also force depends=('curl<7.74.0') for now even tho it's a base package.

Downside is theoretically having to follow when it's fixed in git for the 'curl>=7.74.0.x' whatever.

Det commented on 2020-12-20 12:36 (UTC)

Latest git?

maderios commented on 2020-12-20 10:36 (UTC)

Same segmentation fault issue with curl-git

maderios commented on 2020-12-20 10:13 (UTC)

Warning: security issue was found in curl 7.73.0. It's fixed in curl 7.74 https://security.archlinux.org/AVG-1337
