Hey @yochananmarqos, sorry for the latest problems. I've lost access to my github account due to issues with 2FA. Github support couldn´t just desactivate 2FA, so they renamed the account and i had to fork the code from myself. I forgot to update the releases page, will do it now.

@SleepingPanda: I've updated the source URL.

@benjamimgois: What's with the renaming and forking?

SleepingPanda commented on 2022-04-30 08:16 (UTC)

Tried building this and I'm getting 404 at the sources link. Has the github repo moved? There aren't any releases on the github page.

@yochananmarqos thanks man !

@benjamimgois: Oops. Fixed with 0.8-2.

Hey @yochananmarqos, in the latest 0.8 release i got lot's of reports that goverlay-bin is giving a permission error

/usr/lib/goverlay’: Permission denied

The same doesn't happen with goverlay-git package, do you know what might be the problem ?

I found a problem: when using Gnome Wayland (with Nvidia card, I don't know if AMD is affected too), if you launch GOverlay the first time, it works fine, but if you start to change settings on the menu, (check boxes, etc), then it closes, and if you open it again, then the whole GUI window is black, and you can't do anything, it only says the program does not respond (wait or force exit). The only way to be able to see the GUI window again is to close the Wayland session and start an X11 session instead. Also completely uninstalling GOverlay and its dependencies from Pamac doesn't work either, the problem remains. UPDATE: The problem started when I pressed a color option next to the "Load Color" option.

Apologies, I built it on another system and it appears you are correct. I had been building with makepkg --clean, so I assumed I already had that taken care of. Apologies for taking your time.

@Elle_Kerning: The checksums are correct, clear your AUR helper cache / do a clean build.

io.github.benjamimgois.goverlay.metainfo.xml and io.github.benjamimgois.goverlay.desktop

Do not pass the validity check, causing the build to fail. A fix would be much appreciated.

Thanks @yochananmarqos

@benjamimgois: Oops, it's added now.

Hey @yochananmarqos, i just found a small problem that's affecting users of goverlay-bin. On goverlay-git the program is started by a small script with the correct commands.

/usr/bin/goverlay https://github.com/benjamimgois/goverlay/blob/master/data/goverlay.sh.in

Without it, goverlay-bin will not force the "x11" variable and will not apply the correct theme (fusion). Is it possible to add the script ? it will fix the problem for a lot of users.

@silverhikari: No, the old files will not as they have been updated. Do a clean build / clear your AUR helper cache.

silverhikari commented on 2021-10-27 23:31 (UTC)

the desktop file does not pass the validity check

@peterge: Fixed.
