This package doesn't work for me either. If anybody else is facing "Failed to load gpx-viewer.ui" error, consider using gpxviewer-bzr instead. worked for me.

UPDATE: compile the package but do not install it. works running from compiled binary ($SOURCE/gpxviewer-bzr/pkg/gpxviewer-bzr/usr/bin/gpx-viewer).

Yup, the same error by clicking on Open file or Preferences
** (gpx-viewer:31444): ERROR **: Failed to load gpx-viewer.ui
Trace/breakpoint trap (core dumped)

Does this package work with anybody? For me it always crashes with:
** (gpx-viewer:10925): ERROR **: Failed to load gpx-viewer.ui
zsh: trace trap (core dumped) gpx-viewer

@tuxce: thank you, pkgbuild modified

tuxce commented on 2012-11-14 13:56

The :
rm -fr "${pkgdir}/home"
can be dangerous and users can build outside their $HOME or have a $HOME outside /home.

It's better to modify the :
sed -ie 's|desktopdir = $(DESTDIR)/|desktopdir =|'
before the ./configure

@vesath: thank you - i updated the pkgbuild. jose

vesath commented on 2012-08-06 07:50

I made a cleaned-up and updated version of this package:

jose1711: Although it is a bit different from yours (I threw away the desktop file since I have no use for it), if you are still interested in maintaining this package, maybe you could merge it with yours.

jose1711 commented on 2012-06-26 10:02

seems that bzr version of this package no longer crashes :-)

jose1711 commented on 2012-05-01 20:10

you might want to try beware however that it does not display map and crashes on playback on my computer.

Just did a sysupgrade and can't rebuild this package. ./configure complains

No package 'champlain-gtk-0.8' found
No package 'champlain-0.8' found
No package 'gdl-1.0' found

Check for packages:
% pacman -Q libchamplain champlain gdl
libchamplain 0.10.0-2
error: package "champlain" not found
gdl 3.0.1-1

I don't know what I'm doing with autoconf so I can't solve it myself.

had the same problem as ad_user, removing the two lines fixed it :)

jose1711 commented on 2011-04-02 11:08

ad_user: please try to remove the following lines from PKGBUILD and report back.

sed -i 's/#include <clutter-gtk\/gtk-clutter-embed.h>/#include <clutter-gtk\/clutter-gtk.h>/' src/gpx-viewer.c
sed -i -e '/default = 4/s/^/\/\//' src/gpx-graph.vala

thank you, jose

@eMerzh: try pacman -Sy libunique autoconf

eMerzh commented on 2011-01-06 15:18

I have 2 pbms:

No package 'unique-1.0' found
aur-gpxviewer/./PKGBUILD: line 22: /usr/bin/autoconf: no file or directory

jose1711 commented on 2010-09-20 18:23

@damumbl: may i credit you?

The line
make exec_prefix=$pkgdir prefix=$pkgdir/usr install
should be changed to
make install DESTIDR=$pkgdir

Else it will install the gpx-viewer binary to /bin, which is wrong IMO!

Also please delete the last line, as the make install installs its own .desktop file!

Anonymous comment on 2010-09-17 19:41

Just change the lines

sed -i -e 's/champlain-gtk-0.3/champlain-gtk-0.4/'
sed -i -e 's/champlain-0.3/champlain-0.4/'

sed -i -e 's/champlain-gtk-0.4/champlain-gtk-0.6/'
sed -i -e 's/champlain-0.4/champlain-0.6/'

It's a bug IMHO.

@raqua: related to issue with

raqua commented on 2010-06-07 11:20

Does not compile on my machine. Crashes with this message:

checking for modules... configure: error: Package requirements (
gtk+-2.0 >= 2.16
champlain-gtk-0.4 >= 0.3.3
champlain-0.4 >= 0.3.3
) were not met:

No package 'champlain-gtk-0.4' found
No package 'champlain-0.4' found

Consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if you
installed software in a non-standard prefix.

Alternatively, you may set the environment variables modules_CFLAGS
and modules_LIBS to avoid the need to call pkg-config.
See the pkg-config man page for more details.

intltool dependancy missing

HaaTa commented on 2010-05-15 03:50

Didn't compile for me on x86_64 Arch. The autotools build log mentioned glproto not being installed.
Installed the glproto package and it compiled fine. Probably should be added as a build dependency.

Unfortunately the app segfaults.

jose1711 commented on 2010-04-23 15:34

try now. i only commented out the line causing error. don't know what are the implications though, sorry..

realitygaps commented on 2010-04-23 02:08

This wouldnt compile on my i686 arch machine - see the errors at . Any idea how to get this to compile?
