This does not work on a current arch system. Various problems related to SDL etc. I've tried out but issues remains. (First) cut scene is played very fast, and keyboard does not seem to be working at all. I filed an issue in playits Gitlab.

Apparently GOG has abandoned tar.gz files and switched to a new mojosetup format. I've just pushed 1.4.0-3 to handle that. The game itself hasn't changed, so you don't have to update.

You don't need to test for CARCH on your depends any more, there are proper variables for that now: see

Try sudo chown *your username* -R /opt/grim-fandango/game/bin/Saves Or run the game as root

Thanks Rasi. I'll add a launcher script and adjust the permissions.

Rasi commented on 2015-01-31 03:29 (UTC)

also would you mind adding a launcher script in /usr/bin for those of us that dont have .desktop aware launchers?

Rasi commented on 2015-01-31 03:19 (UTC)

game directory is not writable by user resulting in save games not working
