I finally got it to compile after looking at the grub-git AUR. I installed it but haven't rerun grub yet. You need to revert a patch; add this to the "source()" section:

"http://git.savannah.gnu.org/gitweb/?p=grub.git;a=patch;h=0ba90a7f017889d32a47897d9107ef45cc50a049"

Then add something like this to prepare():

msg "Revert [PATCH] efi: Move grub_reboot() into kernel"

patch -Rp1 -i "${srcdir}/?p=grub.git;a=patch;h=0ba90a7f017889d32a47897d9107ef45cc50a049"

Fwiw, I actually downloaded the latest grub-git snapshot and added this reversion, and the aforementioned modified "grub-add-f2fs-support-v8.patch".

I had to modify grub-add-f2fs-support-v8.patch to build with the latest 2.02-rc1 from git. Changed the:
reoif";;
to:
reoi";;
