I will run more tests to find a better fix PS: next time use LANG=C , example: $LANG=C yaourt -S grub2-theme-archxion

Very strange... onto my laptop the problem didn't happen and all goes smooth... In my desktop I had that problem... Maybe it's something I did on my desktop, I don't know...

"You have to erase manually the old files..." grub2-theme-archxion.install already does that (http://pastie.org/5668318), if not paste the output.

Installation go well, packages are installed under /boot/grub/themes as they should be... but You have to erase manually the old files under /boot/grub/themes before installing it, otherwise it will says files already present in the filesystem. After that you can install/upgrade the package. PS: My two cents thought... I think it's possible to do all of that automatically into the PKGBUILD itself

Why not write the files directly to /boot/target like the memtest86+ package does? This way pacman owns them on their intended target.
