I've graduated and will likely never use this program again...good luck to the next adopter!

tcl/tk 8.6 came up to [extra], but blt doesn't work and compile with it. I strongly recommend everybody to add tk and tcl to IgnorePkg and NoUpgrade in /etc/pacman.conf else you won't be able to use gsas!

Recently I've found and solved strange bug, so maybe it will be helpful information. When I tried to import phase from exp file no information about symmetry and cell parameters was imported. This was due to recent fontconfig upgrade in the system. I did "rm -rf .fonts.conf .fontconfig .fonts" and everything got back to normal.

Thanks for letting me know. I'll modify the PKGBUILD when I get a chance later today. A namcap check suggested those packages be added to the dependencies, but it's not always correct. tcsh was suggested by the GSAS/EXPGUI website I believe, but wish works just as well.

I did:
yaourt -Rdd libstdc++5 lib32-libstdc++5 tcsh
and so far everything works fine.

Great job! In fact I was thinking about writing PKGBUILD myself... By the way, I will advertise my own package https://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=59379 It is an crystal structure visualization tool, that can be run from the expgui.

I've got a one question about dependencies. Until now I was running gsas without installed: libstdc++5, tcsh and lib32-libstdc++5. Why have you put them to PKDBUILD? For instance, instead of using tcsh you can use /usr/bin/wish which is part of tk package.

I'm running x86_64 system if it's somehow important.

1189-1,

Finally got away from the developers' bootstrap.py script and wrote a good PKGBUILD. Once again...let me know if things don't work for you.

JazzplayerL9 commented on 2012-01-26 03:44

1187-1,

Had to add --ignore-ancestry in a few spots in the bootstrap.py function for it to correctly download all files.

Updated to 1178-1, needed to fix the /opt/gsas/expgui/expgui executable because it is downloaded as a MSDOS format. Added new makedepend: hd2u

First package...if anyone installs it and has problems let me know. I think I followed all the rules.
