@Sylvain_07: did you happen to change character encoding recently? I had an update that switched my locale from en_AU.UTF-8 to POSIX, and that was what triggered the problem for me (twice, since it happened again after I switched back to en_AU.UTF-8).

I have just removed gscanpdf and perl :

and reinstall all : i have the same error to albuntu

Can't use string ("gimp %i") as an ARRAY ref while "strict refs" in use at /usr/bin/vendor_perl/gscan2pdf line 4157.
Perl exited with active threads:
2 running and unjoined
0 finished and unjoined
0 running and detached

EDIT : akgrant0710 say @@albuntu: it might be worthwhile renaming ~/.gscan2pdf and trying again :
I removed mine and it worked thank's

@albuntu: it might be worthwhile renaming ~/.gscan2pdf and trying again. This looks a little like a corrupt settings file issue. No promises... :-)

Sorry - it didn't work.
I purged gscan2pdf with dependencies and reinstalled it.
The result:
Can't use string ("gimp %i") as an ARRAY ref while "strict refs" in use at /usr/bin/vendor_perl/gscan2pdf line 4157.
Perl exited with active threads:
2 running and unjoined
0 finished and unjoined
0 running and detached

But if I start gscan2pdf as root then it ist starting.
What can I do?

@Tristelune, thanks.
I've solved this problem on my laptop, with reinstalling of some perl modules, similar to akgrant0710.
On my PC I have just updated gscan2pdf to version 1.5.0-1, but sadly it's not working. Still need to rebuild perl modules.
Only after I have removed gscan2pdf completly with dependent perl modules and installed gscan2pdf again, it works now perfectly :)

For the record, I just faced the same error (mismatched binaries), and solved it by uninstalling / reinstalling:

gscan2pdf perl-sane perl-data-uuid perl-pdf-api2 perl-filesys-df

Update to new version.

@satriani: is your problem solved ?

Some time ago I got a more or less similar problem : https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=213275

I hope you can fix it the same way I did.

/usr/bin/vendor_perl/gscan2pdf
Sane.c: loadable library and perl binaries are mismatched (got handshake key 0xdb00080, needed 0xdb80080)

If gscan2pdf will no longer run check and see if it's "new" location is in $PATH.

$ which gscan2pdf

If gscan2pdf is not found, add this line to ~/.bashrc

export PATH=$PATH:/usr/bin/vendor_perl/

Save ~/.bashrc, then run the command "bash" in terminal to update the $PATH and you should be able to run gscan2pdf.
