Nope, this comment wasn't missed, the replaces field isn't used in the whole package since the update from 2021-04-10 as you can see in the package history. Seems like the issue here is, that chaotic aur hasn't pulled the updated PKGBUILD in a while. Try to contact them via their github issue tracker (https://github.com/chaotic-aur/packages/issues), so that this problem can be resolved.

Just wondering if this comment was missed: "Hi, could you please remove the replaces field, as this is not meant to be used for git-packages and currently leads to pacman constantly asking me whether I want to replace the non-git package when having the [chaotic-aur] repo enabled?"

Also have chaotic-aur enabled, and been having to exclude this manually every time I do updates.

IMO you should add a provides gsettings-desktop-schemas=1.4, that way you can use the git and normal versions for other packages.

Hi ! Could you move the glib-compile-schemas command within the .install file as wonder mentioned ? :)

wonder commented on 2010-10-09 13:20 (UTC)

glib-compile-schemas /usr/share/glib-2.0/schemas should be done in a .install file, on post_install, post_upgrade and post_remove
