There is no point in conficting with gsfonts. Also, xorg-font-utils is obsolete.

Just installing this package suppressed gnuplot's annoying message

gdImageStringFT: fontconfig: Didn't find expected font family. Perhaps URW Type 1 fonts need installing? while printing string Y with font Symbol

which is output when you try to print Psi by {/Symbol Y}. This problem was not solved by installing the official gsfonts package.

lmello: This package needs to be updated. If you want, I can take over the maintenance of this package. (I have multiple packages for which this package is needed.)
