I could not build because _giscanner module couldn't be found

 Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "/usr/bin/g-ir-scanner", line 98, in <module>
    from giscanner.scannermain import scanner_main
  File "/usr/lib/gobject-introspection/giscanner/scannermain.py", line 35, in <module>
    from giscanner.ast import Include, Namespace
  File "/usr/lib/gobject-introspection/giscanner/ast.py", line 29, in <module>
    from .sourcescanner import CTYPE_TYPEDEF, CSYMBOL_TYPE_TYPEDEF
  File "/usr/lib/gobject-introspection/giscanner/sourcescanner.py", line 35, in <module>
    from giscanner._giscanner import SourceScanner as CSourceScanner
ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'giscanner._giscanner'

Solved this by soft linking to the existing module ln -s /usr/lib/gobject-introspection/giscanner/_giscanner.cpython-39-x86_64-linux-gnu.so /usr/lib/gobject-introspection/giscanner/_giscanner.so.

Not sure this is an issue of this package, or if this is a particularly good way of solving the issue, but it appeared when trying to install this package and the soft link solved my issue.

Why the package was not updated to 1.18 ?

After finally managing to grab the PGP key via this URL: http://keys.internet-sicherheit.de:11371/pks/lookup?op=get&search=0x5D2EEE6F6F349D7C

... The build actually fails with test suite errors:

Thanks man! It worked!

Edit: it imported the PGP key but now the installation errors at me ;-;

yochananmarqos commented on 2020-07-22 19:40

@marcos: Try another keyserver like pgp.mit.edu:

gpg --keyserver pgp.mit.edu --recv-keys 5D2EEE6F6F349D7C

marcos commented on 2020-07-22 18:21
