the newest version tarball seems to be unavailable (404 not found) so I cannot update it now

Please be mindful that the pkgver format 0.8.0.rc is wrong for a Release Candidate (a.k.a, a prerelease version), because it results in a version value that pacman considers newer than a future stable release version 0.8.0.

Order of precedence for pacman: 0.8.0rc < 0.8.0 < 0.8.0.rc

This package's version is outdated and makepkg fails. I got it to work, here is the git diff:
