Here on Gnome 3.12 works perfectly after changing "binutils-multilib" to "binutils" and following vonVlad tip (as root) for installing the soundbanks. Didn't try updating tough.

@hyshka: Dependencies should IMO still be the same, because the versions r11553 and r11621 of the corresponding .deb packages still have the same dependencies...

I've also made a modified version of the PKGBUILD with the current version (r11621) of Guitar Pro 6. As mentioned by other posters, I changed "binutils-multilib" to "binutils" and added "gksu" to the "depends" array. Also created a new tarball, which can be downloaded from the following URL: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/sh/29kr9dvw7gnmojk/AADjibdFNAOHaVs1Sj7c2zzTa/guitar-pro-11621-1.src.tar.gz Experience with version r11621: Installs fine, execution is no problem. However, after updating through the integrated updater, there is an info prompt, which mentions that the application is run by an older version of Qt ("gp build with Qt : 4.6.3 and run with Qt : 4.6.2."). On Gnome DEs I had to run the application as root (after the update!), because of the error "QGtkStyle was unable to detect the current GTK+ theme" followed by a segmentation fault... On KDE everything is perfect. This seems to be a universal DE specific problem, which I could also reproduce on Ubuntu 14.04... @Maintainer: Please update to my generated tarball. THX!

I've tried a modified version of this PKGBUILD with release '11621' of Guitar Pro 6. I am not sure if the dependencies have changed at all, but it seems 'binutils-multilib' is deprecated and should be replaced with 'binutils'. I also second that 'gksu' should be added as a dependency. It is not required to install and run Guitar Pro, but is necessary to run updates, install soundbanks, or do anything useful IMHO.

I could install it after changing the binutils-multilib dependency to binutils. However, the GP6 window is small and has no decorations. I can not resize or move it. Switching to fullscreen mode works, though. The program tells me that I have to update it, so I ran GPUpdater as root which downloaded about 600MB. I hoped that this fixes the window-issze, but since then, GP gives me a segmentation fault directly after being started.

It works fine here. Only one thing though. I bought a licence for the program online and in order to get the full version out of this one you have to update it using "help/update". But the updater needs package "gksu" and will return error "can't start the updater" if we lack it. Sooo my sugestion is to put this under "dependancies" and not "optional dependancies" as there is nothing optional in it. We need it PERIOD.

I get this error: error: target not found: binutils-multilib and 'yaourt binutils-multilib' returns nothing. replaced dependency with 'binutils' and still had some dependency problems, seems that a lot of work have been done in multilib world

It lives! Tip: if for some reason you fail to run the BankInstaller and you want to install the soundbanks, proceed as follows: Download the soundbanks from the website. cd /opt/GuitarPro6 ./GPBankInstaller /path/to/downloaded/Soundbanks.gpbank Data/Soundbanks/
