gvfsbackendcdda.c:58:27: fatal error: cdio/paranoia.h: No such file or directory
Comment by ShadowKyogre
Disowning because I use SpaceFM as my main file manager (and thus, there isn't much need for me to maintain gvfs). If there are people still needing this package (and the other relevant ones), please adopt this.
Comment by ShadowKyogre
I'm gravely sorry for not updating this as soon as possible. A whole bunch of stuff happened IRL, and the modem wasn't letting me get to the AUR until yesterday.

gvfs 1.10.0 is out, now isn't trivial the upgrade ...
Comment by rufflove
Bumping to 1.8.2 is trivial. Built fine against libgnome-keyring 3...
Anonymous comment
The package won't build with packer and clyde but makepkg did the job.
Comment by b9anders
or to 1.8.1 for that matter. compiled fine for me.

The package won't build, update it to version 1.6.7.

Updated. Also, check out the other gvfs-*-lite pkgs for SMB and OBEX support enabling:

http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=47388 (OBEX)
Comment by rufflove
I've made an alternative PKGBUILD for 1.6.6 that retains explicit SMB and OBEX support, whilst removing GNOME deps: http://aur.pastebin.com/zFVneKxr

The package won't build, update it to version 1.6.4

In response to your prompt of sorts, I use it on my other computer, which uses lxde instead of gnome - the lack of dependency on the non-lite libsoup helps out a lot.

Well, I've decided to orphan this package as I no longer use it. However, since there seems to be some use for it, I will leave it here for someone else to adopt if they want to.
Anonymous comment
Maybe there is a use for this package? I personally do not need the libsoup-gnome dependency as I do not have ftp servers (I think that is what it is for). I only wanted gvfs so that I could mount drives in pcmanfm-git.
The only (slight) problem I have with the dependencies of gvfs is their libgnome-keyring dependency. I want to use lxpolkit instead (they do the same thing) simply because I use lxde and it is quite a bit lighter.
Instead of this package, should there be packages for libsoup-gnome and gnome-disk-utility with lxpolkit-git (there is not as yet a release of lxpolkit) instead of libgnome-keyring? I already have both on my computer, with the gvfs from extra installed.
@ivbauer what do you use this package for? Is it a dependency for something?
If enough people give good reasons why they use this instead of the gvfs in extra, I will not ask for it to be deleted, however I might end up orphaning it.
Comment by wonder
@ivbauer neither the one from extra. udisks is an indirect dependencies from gnome-disk-utility. And because is not in depends, the support for GDU volume monitor will not be compiled. That means that automounting will not work
Anonymous comment
I like the package. It's enough to open URLs and it doesn't depend on udisks. Thank you!

I made this package before gvfs was split. Now that it has been split, it seems to make this package redundant. I think I will send an email to aur-general asking them to delete it. Thank you for telling me this, I would not have noticed otherwise.
Comment by wonder
note that the current gvfs from extra has been split to reduce the dependencies. gvfs has only the basic stuff, samba, photo, bluetooth are split in separate packages
Comment by wonder
i'm sorry if i was harsh with you. i said that because you don't have even the basic dependency in depends array. if i get the PKGBUILD like it is now and try to build it in a clean chroot, you'll end up only with archive support and thats it. Also optdepeds are not autmatically fetch by makepkg, only makedepeds.

I'm not sure why you think this build is a joke. I will admit, I am new to packaging, so I will probably do a few things wrong. In fact, I did not know how to use chroot until I found this wiki page today http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/DeveloperWiki:Building_in_a_Clean_Chroot
I have now updated the PKGBUILD: intltool is a makedepend, and I have added optdepends for all the other features. If you still think this package is a joke, please explain why.
Comment by wonder
this build is a joke. please try to built it in a clean chroot and you'll see what i'm talking about.
also intltool is not a dependency. its a makedepends

I made this package to help with the new pcmanfm, which will need gvfs to manage volumes etc. Please inform me of any errors or missing dependencies.
