Gazebo Garden is end of life as of November 2024. I will continue to accept patches to fix build errors, but will focus my efforts on the releases supported by upstream developers.

Using wayland on KDE plasma, I had to set QT_QPA_PLATFORM=xcb in order to make the renderer not crash. I've seen that unsetting GTK_PATH may be necessary on GTK-based desktops. See the following link for general troubleshooting.
