Just tested without libinstpatch -- fluidsynth-nolibinstpatch works with no observed abnormalities so far. If anything changes I'll comment but so far this fixes the hanging issue

+1 for the fluidsynth-nolibinstpatch fix. I think this package should be set as a dependency for gzdoom.

@mutewave - fluidsynth-nolibinstpatch fixes the problem for me.

nvllsvm, i have fluidsynth 2.1.1-1 installed and am getting hangs right before gameplay as well. i saved output log. haven't tried with fluidsynth-nolibinstpatch. https://pastebin.com/7MALrifN

Looks like the fluidsynth=2.1.1-1 package is breaking the game. Hangs before gameplay.

That fixed it. Thanks.

PopeRigby, remove ~/.config/gzdoom/gzdoom.ini and run gzdoom again.

I'm getting "Cannot find gzdoom.pk3" when I run gzdoom

Yes, 4.2.3 compiled successfully, thank you!

grubber commented on 2019-10-22 09:05 (UTC)

RealGecko, thank you. I was able to reproduce the error with 4.2.1, but not with 4.2.3, so hopefully it's fixed.
