i agree. But removing 'strip' might be wrong. every package should set its options independently from the default ones. if 'strip' is needed or advantageous for haskell packages then it should stay there. Who knows, maybe later they remove strip from the default options and then every haskell package breaks needing to update every single package once again.

You'll probably want to put 'staticlibs' to the options in all of these, at some point. The default /etc/makepkg.conf has changed to now explicitly turn that off, for some reason. Details here: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/haskell-zip-archive/
I've just been changing 'strip' to 'staticlibs', since 'strip' is already included by default in /etc/makepkg.conf
