Can you include some parsed output of git describe --tags, to prepend the official version information (currently, we want to have 7.8.0+2) to $pkgver?

Then you also can add =${pkgver} to the provides-entry.

Regards!

Just a note:

Upstream has discontinued development and support of haxm as of 2023-01-28:

DISCONTINUATION OF PROJECT

This project will no longer be maintained by Intel.

Intel has ceased development and contributions including, but not limited to, maintenance, bug fixes, new releases, or updates, to this project.

Intel no longer accepts patches to this project.

If you have an ongoing need to use this project, are interested in independently developing it, or would like to maintain patches for the open source software community, please create your own fork of this project.

Status

HAXM was created to bring Intel Virtualization Technology to Windows and macOS users. Today both Microsoft Hyper-V and macOS HVF have added support for Intel Virtual Machine Extensions. We have therefore decided to retire the HAXM project. HAXM v7.8.0 is our last release and we will not accept pull requests or respond to issues after this.

Please do not increment $epoch at every PKGBUILD change.

It needs only be incremented if the $pkgver scheme changes in a way that a newer upstream version has a lower (or similar) version number.

If you just change the PKGBUILD, increment $pkgrel.

Thanks! (But now, do not decrement $epoch but leave it at the current value, once you have incremented it.)

nasm is a dependency: When dkms runs to build a module for my kernel, I get the error

[...]
nasm -f elf64 -o ../../core/emulate_ops.o ../../core/emulate_ops.asm
make: nasm: No such file or directory
[...]

Please add nasm to the depends-array.

Thanks for maintaining!
