You are right @fhs, I will take the first option, in the next days I will fix that.
thanks!

fhs commented on 2014-01-25 03:17

Hi @epsilom,
I see few options:
1. Create a separate hdf-eos-common package for those files, and make this package depend on it.
2. Add hdf-eos5 as a dependency for this package, but this means user has to install gdal and hdf5.
3. Add hdf-eos5 as an optional dependency, so the user at least knows where to find the files.
4. Add a comment in PKGBUILD explaining why the files are being removed.

I would at least do (3) and (4). Option (1) might be a bit overkill, but it's the more "correct" solution.

Hi @fhs

yes I know, but these 4 files that I removed in PKGBUILD is because the package hdf-eos5 provide these files (are identical files) and, of course, I had to delete that files else you can't install both packages (hdf-eos2 and hdf-eos5). If you need this header file, install hdf-eos5.

do you think if there are other better way for resolve this conflict files?

fhs commented on 2014-01-25 00:40

Why is ease.h removed from this package? HdfEosDef.h is clearly including ease.h

the ftp://edhs1.gsfc.nasa.gov is down ... is there another way to obtain the source code ?

XavierCLL commented on 2013-05-04 21:10

fixed, thanks @denn.

Currently package is not building properly. DESTDIR=$startdir/pkg should be replaced with DESTDIR=$pkgdir in PKGBUILD. Also it would be nice to split packaging code into separate package() function to suppress makepkg warning.

does not compile; file is no longer available on ftp://edhs1.gsfc.nasa.gov/edhs/hdfeos5/latest_release/.

update pkgbuild, thanks @bnordgren.

Modified configure script which refers to the old jpeg library as libjpeg. Adding the following line to PKGBUILD just before ./configure will allow you to specify the name of the old library using the LIBS variable:

sed -i '/LIBS="-ljpeg/d' configure

libgctp as separated package not work for compile ncl, fix conflicts with hdf-eos5 and for compile ncl

XavierCLL commented on 2010-11-17 20:54

Hi @graziano, you are right, fixed make library libgctp as separated package for hdf-eos2 and hdf-eos5

graziano commented on 2010-11-15 16:30

libGctp.a from hdf-eos2 conflicts with same file from hdf-eos5. Both packages are needed for ncl.
