This line in PKGBUILD needs to be updated from install -m 0644 -D hdrmerge.desktop $pkgdir/usr/share/applications/hdrmerge.desktop
to: install -m 0644 -D data/hdrmerge.desktop $pkgdir/usr/share/applications/hdrmerge.desktop

This will build fine, but not install.
It builds fine using yaourt, but when it goes to install it complaints:
xdg-icon-resource: No writable system icon directory found. xdg-desktop-menu: No writable system menu directory found. install: cannot stat 'images/icon.png': No such file or directory ==> ERROR: A failure occurred in package(). Aborting...
Upon further inspection, I believe the reason for the install fail is due to the icons are missing from /tmp/yaourt-tmp-retro/aur-hdrmerge-git/pkg/hdrmerge-git/usr/share/icons/hicolor/128x128/apps
