Feel free to create a separate package for heroku-cli. There's really no reason to alter this one (especially since both products have different names).

Personally, heroku-cli was too buggy for me anyway, so I'll keep on using the (now-unmaintained) heroku-toolbelt.

@hobarrera The following works but the cli still downloads itself to ~/.local/share. The toolbelt does it too, though.

# Maintainer: Hugo Osvaldo Barrera <>
# Contributor: Ranieri Althoff <>

pkgdesc="Everything you need to get started using Heroku"
arch=('i686' 'x86_64')
provides=('heroku-client-standalone' 'heroku-cli')
conflicts=('heroku-client-standalone' 'heroku-toolbelt' 'ruby-heroku')

package() {
cd "${srcdir}/heroku"
install -dm 755 "${pkgdir}/usr/bin"
install bin/heroku "${pkgdir}/usr/bin"

@jtojnar Let me know if you manage to package heroku-cli, I've failed horribly, and it seems to be an awful pain how they designed it (and its installation).

Heroku Toolbelt has been deprecated for some time. It was replaced by heroku-cli

@fuhd: Added.

ruby should be added to its dependencies

Fixed this earlier today. Thanks for reporting it.

Broken symlink /usr/bin/heroku. Pointed to /usr/local/heroku/bin/heroku, but heroku instaled into /opt/heroku-toolbelt/bin/heroku
