autoconf and automake are already dependencies of base-devel. For using makepkg base-devel is assumed to be installed (see here). I added git as this was missing indeed.

I checked the package build on a pure docker container with only base-devel installed and this works.

New update, neat! You should add autoconf and automake packages in makedepends as this project use these GNU Autotools (that weren't installed on my system before I updated). The PKGBUILD is currently quite sparse about dependencies.

hexcurse development have been stalled for ~6 years in original repo (https://github.com/LonnyGomes/hexcurse)

Further development have been done in this repo: https://github.com/prso/hexcurse

Currently there it is 86 commits ahead of original repo - improved searching is just one of the "new features"

Could you be persuaded to switch to repo https://github.com/prso/hexcurse ?

Thanks in advance :-)

provides and conflicts arrays (for hexcurse) are missing. 'i686' and function can be removed.

Fixed compiler issues with the latest commit. Thanks to gentoo github repository and trofi who provided patches for this.

Building on manjaro gcc 10.2.0 just works fine. On what system are you working? Can you give an error log?

Requires -fcommon CFLAGS to build, more info https://gcc.gnu.org/gcc-10/changes.html#c-family in section global variables with multiple tentative definitions
