v1.5.6 is just released.

BTW, SDL_mixer hasn't used by the engine since v1.5.x times: it relies on libmad, libogg and libvorbis depending on how you build it.

v1.5.5 is just released.

Adopted and updated. Please don't flag out-of date! At least for me 1.5.4 has a nasty bug that makes some keys lock into pressed state when in game (e.g. pressing esc once makes the menu flash on and off all the time, so I can't even quit the game). However this bug seems to be fixed in the svn snapshot, so I'm waiting for the 1.5.5 release. Meanwhile, 1.5.3 works fine at least for me.

also experienced the issues sezero mentioned regarding the patch. the PKGBUILD should be fixed as noted

Noticed a few issues in PKGBUILD:

- The "Install the xdelta updates" section seems to be wrong. The pak file patching changed in 1.5.x, and without the correct data paths/delta file names, h2patch or h2launcher won't function. Correct version should be like the way it is in the rpm spec file:
mkdir -p ${pkgdir}/opt/$pkgname/patchdat/
mkdir -p ${pkgdir}/opt/$pkgname/patchdat/data1
install -D -m755 hexen2source-$pkgver/h2patch/h2patch ${pkgdir}/opt/$pkgname/h2patch
install -D -m644 gamecode-$_dataver/patch111/patchdat/data1/data1pk0.xd3 ${pkgdir}/opt/$pkgname/patchdat/data1/data1pk0.xd3
install -D -m644 gamecode-$_dataver/patch111/patchdat/data1/data1pk1.xd3 ${pkgdir}/opt/$pkgname/patchdat/data1/data1pk1.xd3

- "install release notes for the older versions" is missing some older release notes docs (unimportant)

- The game data installation misses the *.ent files: see the rpm spec file.

Thanks, works great :)

Just thought I would mention this incase anyone has troubles. If you move the required pak0.pak and pak1.pak files to /opt/hexen2/data1/ and try to run the game but it gives an error while trying to apply the patches that the files cannot be found you simply need to run hexen2 as root once so the installer has the appropriate permissions to patch the files. After its done patching the files you can exit and start again as a normal user. Also not sure if its the same for everyone but sound only works right for me when set to sdl, otherwise its always crackely.

Updated to build on x86_64 and fix minor icon problems.

I love this game.
Works great with x86 but could you please update the PKGBUILD to work with x86_64 as well?
